Who's Who in Selipar Jepun Production

THEATRICAL PLAYERS:

MOHD SHAHRUL MIZAD ASHARI
SHAHRUL MIZAD was born in Johore on 3rd May 1972. A Theatre Diploma-holder from the National Arts Academy or Akademi Seni Kebangsaan (ASK), he has been a part-time lecturer at ASWARA from 1999 until now. Ijat as he is commonly known has also directed several theatre productions including "Singgah", Pentomin "Insan Cemerlang Desa Gemilang" (2006-2007), Bangsawan "Raja Laksmana Bentan" dan "Sebenarnya" (2004). He was the assistant director for "Tempest" (2003) dan "Lepat Pisang Kopi O" (1999).

He is well known for his acting roles in local theatre and dramas such as Monodrama "Lembu" (2004), Monodrama "Bila Bulan Menangis", "Jangan Bunuh Sam", "Silang Kata", "Split Gravy On Rice", "Mimpi Di Malam Musim Panas", Monodrama "Lembu", "Syakuntala", "Proses" (2003), "Puteri Saadong", "Raden Galoh", Malam Haram" (2000), "Keris Sang Puteri", "3Lives", Festival Monodrama ASEAN "Yang Benar", Randai "Anggun Nan Tungga" (1999), "Paduka Oedipus", "Mahkamah Keadilan", Makyung "Anak Raja Gondang" (1996), Muzika "UDA & DARA" in English (1995), "Salina" (1994) as well TV drama "Sutun 1 &2" (2007-2007),

MARLENNY DEEN ERWAN
Marlenny is a young Performing Arts (drama) degree holder from University Malaya and a diploma holder in creative writing from ASK. In addition to her active participation in acting, she is also active in theatre direction, as well as writing for TV dramas and the stage. She has been awarded Best Actress in the 2003 Malaysian Theatre Festival and Best Actor in the Malaysian Inter-Varsity Theatre Festival in 2005. She was a finalist in the 2006 Cameronian Awards for the Best Performer category. Her latest drama direction was Melati dan Melur, a Merkar Budaya Production. At persent she is pursuing her Master’ degree in traditional theatre in University Malaya.

FOO CHI WEI
Foo Chiwei is an established name with a taste for the unconventional. His designer style is best defined as elegant, tasteful and definitely fastidious (an excellent quality for any designer!). His fine craftsmanship is backed by an indepth knowledge and experience of typography. Foo has won many local and international awards including the Anugerah Industri Muzik awards for best album cover, the prestigious New York Festival and the London International Advertising Award for prints. After graduating from the Royal Melbourne University with a BA in Visual Communication with High Distinction, he worked in top design companies in Singapore before moving to Kuala Lumpur to continue as Senior Designer at the highly respected William Harald-Wong & Associates. In 1992 he was headhunted by the international ad. agency, McCann Erickson Malaysia to start-up and be Head of their Design Department. Today he owns his own design company, Matchbox Studio with a very impressive clientele. He is taking Indian Classical, Odissi classes at Sutra Dance House led by Ramli Ibrahim as his passion. Recently, he was seen in Donna Miranda's contemporary dance production at ANNEX Central Market.

DRAMATURGE: ROSNANI SEMAN
This Kota Bharu, Kelantan native started her theatrical involvement with the Angkatan Karyawan Aktif Kuala Lumpur or ANGKA. She is a tutor whom is also pursuing her Master’s in Arts degree at the University Malaya. At one time she participated in TV drama and films but she is now focusing her attention on theatre centre stage and behind the curtains in productions such as Jejak Pahlawan, Kena Main, Hang Tak Tuah (Khalid Salleh), Gendang Kosong (Matari Rahman), Perjalanan Bu Aminah, Opera Ayu Cendana (Fauziah Nawi), Ninggg…. Pelayaran InderaPutra II, Sabda Sang Pendita, Titik Mula Titik Akhir, Ludin, Ajung, Fragmen, Ghazal Party Queen and University Malaya joint productions such as Obsessi, Matinya Seorang Pahlawan, Selendang Sakti, Pengganti Zen and Jerung Vs Yu. She has been awarded Best Actress in a Theatre Production – Wilayah Persekutuan, Best Director Theatre Festival -- Kuala Lumpur and Middle Zone, and also Winner of the Merdeka Poetry Declamation

STAGE AND PRODUCTION: MOHD ZAMRI BIN MOHAMAD
At 24, Zamri is young talent in the theatre circles. He started his association with theatre three years ago when he set foot in University Malaya. He chose to pursue his Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts (Drama) with theatre acting as his emphasis, Even so, when he was a student in UM he didn’t just limit himself to acting as he opted for management and technical as additional skills.

In addition to his active involvement in theatre, this son of Kuala Krai, Kelantan has also won the Best Supporting Actor 2004 in University Malaya’s theatre competition. Zamri is also active in student organization and has high leadership capability. He is an EXCO of Arts and Culture, for University Malaya’s Student Representative Council 2004/05 (MPMUM).

Because of his deep interest in the arts, besides acting he is also involved in dance, as a theatre crew, stage assistant, set and technical designer, stage management and as an extra for drama/film, background singer, researcher as well as other roles. He has been to Thailand and Cambodia for a dance performance. In theatre acting, he is more predisposed to more physical and experimental forms of theatre, and theatre which involves physical action.

Thus far, he has been involved in 20 theatre productions in University Malaya and productions around the Klang Valley. Among these were Nuri dan Lokomotif Lipang (2004)- directed by Wawan Safwan, Teater Fizikal Tunku Kudin (2004)-directed by Effindi Samsuddin, Teater Kanak-kanak Selendang Sakti (2004 and 2005)- directed by Roselina Khir, Teater Muzikal Lantai T.Pinkie 2006- directed by Rosminah Tahir, Bansawan Mahkota Kembayat Negara (2005) directed by Effindi Samsuddin, Bangsawan Syamsir Alam (2003), Bangsawan Selendang Delima (2004) directed by Seniman Negara Rahman B, Warkah Menara (2005), Gejolak (2004), Orang Baik (2005), Singa dan Permata (2005), Miss Julia (2006) as well as other productions.

In TV dramas and film, he has been participated in Filem Cinta Fotokopi (Prof Abd. Razak Mohaiden), Drama Balik Kampung (Othman Hafsham), Sitkom Suasana (Martias Ali), Dinasti Bilut (Bade Hj. Azmi), Drama Motivasi (Wayang Tinggi Prod.), Gol n Gincu the Series (Red Communications), Telemovie Bermulanya di Sini (Arab). Most recently, he has been rehearsing for the theatre competition Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur level together with Kumpulan Mekar Budaya Production. In the near futurem he hopes to expand his horizons further in drama or film.

LIGHTING: MOHD HAFIZ HUSIN
MOhd Hafiz is a Performing Arts (Drama) graduate of University Malaysia and diploma holder in Acting from the National Arts Academy

DR. ZULKIFLI MOHAMAD
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER-DIRECTOR-PLAYWRIGHT
Born in the year of the dragon in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Dr Zulkifli studied at Sultan Ibrahim School, Pasir Mas and then went on to Institut Teknologi MARA, University of Strathclyde Glasgow dan completed his doctorate in “Creative Arts Management in Contemporary Malay Dancetheatre” at Institut Tamadun dan Alam Melayu, National University of Malaysia. He has long been the force in the performance and management Suasana Dance Theatre Company 1986-1998. He has also worked at the Scottish Ballet Glasgow, ASEAN, SEAMEO-SPAFA, University of Chulalongkorn, Jakarta Arts Institute, Akademi Seni Kebangsaan, UKM, Institut Kraf Negara, UITM Sarawak, UNIMAS, LINTAS, MAJUIKAN, TELEKOM, COOPERS & LYBRAND.

Zulkifli has worked and collaborated in theatrical and dance performances with W.SRendra, Dr.Chandrabhanu, Azanin Ahmad, Dr.Hatta Azad Khan, the late Ibu Ni Wayan Masih, Elly Luthan and Katsura Kan.

He established a theatre group for street and school children in Kuching in 1993, named TEATER HAUS and SVARNABHUMI STUDIO in 1998 when he re-located to Bangkok for a new job posting. Upon his return to Kuala Lumpur, SVARNABHUMI STUDIO produced several theatre and dance productions which include Tanah Serendah Sekebun Bunga (DBP), Aku Binatang Jalang-Emas Sepuluh (Istana Budaya), Lalak (Panggung Bandaraya), Suara dari Ruang Tamu (Balai Seni Seni Lukis Negara), Kertas (Petronas Galeri), Tandak Tenggara (Camphor2 London Bridge), Waiting For Rama (Exeter University, UK), Vous Amez Dormir (Bangkok Fringe Festival), And She Comes (Berlin Spirit Festival) and Aku dan Laut (Yayasan Kesenian Perak), Eksperimentari Laut dan Lumpur (Majalah 3/ NAG/ Sabah Parks), Telepuk (Muzium Alam Shah), Middle Mountain (Taksu Galleri Jakarta, Black Box Chula Bangkok). Dari Teater Haus ke Svarnabhumi Studio



Grup teater ini adalah sebuah grup yang berkonsep ‘fluid’ dalam perkumpulannya, yang bermaksud ianya tidak mempunyai ahli yang tetap, ia boleh mengembang dan menguncup. Ahli yang menyertai grup ini juga terbuka untuk menyertai perkumpulan lain serta membuat persembahan dengan mana-mana kumpulan. Grup teater in mula bergiat di Kuching Sarawak pada tahun 1993 dengan nama Teater Haus. Mereka mula bergiat dalam membangunkan teater di kalangan anak-anak jalanan, anak-anak sekolah, orang pekak dan buta serta kanak- kanak terencat akal dalam projek di Kuching Waterfront. Kemudiannya menjalankan workshop teater untuk membangunkan teater kanak- kanak bersama Kuching City Library. Grup ini bermula dengan mengadakan persembahan terbuka di sekitar bandar Kuching.

Teater ini berhijrah ke Kota Bangkok bersama pengasasnya, Zulkifli Mohamad, dengan mengadakan workshop gerak and koreografi tari membangunkan koreografi muda di sana. Di Kota Bangkok juga grup teater ini juga mula mengadakan kolaborasi antara budaya dengan pengarah, visual artis, fotografer, videografer dan koreografer dari Jepun dan Thailand. Sewarnabumi Studio juga memfokuskan kepada persembahan yang menggabungkan gerak, tari, ucapan, nyanyian serta musik dalam persembahan solo dan ensemble di site-spesifik dan teater eksperimen.

Teater ini berhijrah lagi ke Kota Jakarta pada tahun 2000 di mana kerja teaternya lebih bersifat penyelidikan dan penulisan. Pada Jun 2003 suatu persembahan site spesifik di persembahankan di Taksu galeri, Jakarta menampilkan 20 seniman tari, musik, videografi, sejarah sastera, sculpture dalam 3 persembahan yang berlaku serentak, termasuk gabungan tarian ballet dan ‘diving’ dalam kolam renang dalam ‘Middle Mountain: Mirror Mirror’. Persembahan ‘Middle Mountain: Paranoid Landscapes’ susulannya dipersembahkan di Black Box, Chulalongkorn U, Bangkok pada September 2003.

Sepulangnya ke Kuala Lumpur, Sewarnabumi mempersembahan sebuah ‘performance theatre’ – ‘Tanah Serendah Sekebun Bunga’ menceritakan kerajaan yang hilang, Langkasuka, bersama barisan pelakon-pelakon muda ternama – Mazlan Tahir, Hamzah Tahir, Kipli Rahman dan menampilkan Mek Nab seniman Mak Yong ternama bersama FSP-UiTM di Stor Teater DBP Kuala Lumpur pada Feb 2004. Zulkifli terpilih sebagai salah seorang dari 10 koreografer untuk Emas Sepuluh di Istana Budaya pada Sept.2004 dengan karyanya “Aku Binatang Jalang” hasil tulisannya sendiri. Beliau mempersembahankan karya solonya “I want to Sleep” di Bangkok Fringe Festival 2004 di Patravadi Theatre. 2005 menampilkan “Lalak” ideanya untuk menampilkan 5 koreografer termasuk dia sendiri di Panggung Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur pada Disember lalu menampilkan karya kumpulan bersama Artis Bandaraya “Jadi Jawo Jawi”. Karya teatertari kanak-kanaknya “Chini” arahan Hamzah Tahir telah dipentaskan bersama kanak-kanak Tunas Budaya pada Sept. 2005 di Lambang Sari, Istana Budaya.

Zulkifli juga menampilkan karya solonya “19142004” di Bangkok Fringe Festival pada 10 Disember 2005. Pada tahun 2006, Zulkifli menumpukan persembahannya kepada solo performance dan seni visual, “Kotak Tari: Suara Dari Ruang Tamu” (NAG, Jun), “Untitled” untuk TABIK JERI (NAG, Ogos), “Asia?” (ASF Bali, Nov), “Lelaki Yang Digulung Ombak Itu” bersama Siti Zainon Ismail (YKP, Dis), “Exocult” (YKP, Dis) “Cut….Aceh” bersama Siti Zainon Ismail (UKM, Dis). Terakhir Svarnabhumi Studio mempersembahkan teatertari telepuk di Muzium Alam Shah, Jun 2007 serta persembahan solo berjudul Kertas di Galeri Petronas untuk pembukaan pameran Pak A.Samad Ismail.

Interview with Playwright-Director of Selipar Jepun (Slippers)

How do you describe Selipar Jepun as performance?
Selipar Jepun is a textual theatre performance. It is my first full tex performance. In the past I used poems and songs as text the rest would be dance and movement.

Is it a play? Drama?
Yes, it is, but it is more of a theatre with monologues, singing and movement.

What is so special about it?
It is my new interpretation of modern Mak Yong concept. Speaking mostly in Kelantan dialect with few monologues in Malay and broken English.

Why you said Mak Yong?
First, it is in Kelantan dialect, second I have some forms of mengadap, but not the rebab, it’s mengadap audience as this is the 21st century performance where audience is important, customer is king, they are the one that make up the population, without them it won’t be popular, so it is a popular form.

So this is a popular form?
Mak Yong was popular during it’s glory time. Yes, I am incorporating popular forms including pop song, but they are not popular now as they were popular in the 1970s. Dikir Barat is a folk form, it is popular among the kampong folk in Kelantan during certain period. Now it is not that popular.

Why are you mixing the forms?
Only we know that we are mixing them, people outside Malaysia wouldn’t know about this. To them this is just a production of performance with some forms of traditional elements. I know I am not making it for the foreigners, but they are welcome to watch the performance. This is my interest, choosing certain things from certain type of performances esp. from traditional forms from Kelantan, because I am from Kelantan. Not because I am promoting Kelantan, but because those are the performances that I know and grow up with, so I am more familiar with. Now the form like Dikir Barat is being taught in school in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. Mak Yong is also being taught outside Kelantan. In fact, the two main players in the production are not Kelantanese. But they have learnt Mak Yong and Wayang Kulit.

So why are you using Kelantan dialect?
That’s my first language I speak. I am most comfortable speaking with Kelantan dialect. Second it is the language that is being used in Wayang Kulit, Mak Yong, Main Peteri and if I am Kelantanese why can’t I use my language. English and American too have to learn Italian, French and German if they singing the opera. So why can’t we accept that Kelantan dialect as important language to be learnt in theatre and performance in Malaysia. Especially when Mak Yong is now World Cultural Heritage.

What is Selipar Jepun about?
It is about a journey of an elder lady and a lady-man in Kota Bharu-Singapore express bus and the characters that they encountered in Singapore – Kamilah and Che Hassan. Both Kamilah and Che Hassan had bad experience in World War II. Che Hassan was taken by Japanese Army to be part of the railway labour while Kamilah’s (Kam Ai Loh) parents were killed by the Japanese Army during the war.

What’s the journey about?
The journey from Kota Bharu to Singapore was just a reason for the two characters to meet when they shared the secrets. Life’s secret.

How many characters in Selipar Jepun?
Many - Yee, Che Kenanga, Kamilah, Che Hassan, Ustaz, Pelayan Bar, Pekerja Rumah Batu, Muallaf, Pengunjung Bar, Penyanyi Kelab Malam, Pengantin-pengantin. But only 4 speaking characters.

Who’s playing the main characters?
Ijat and Lenny. Mohd Shahrul Mizad(seen in Namron’s Lembu Monologue) and Marlenny(Namron’s Laut Lebih Indah Dari Bulan Monologue).

Why are they chosen for the characters?
Both are strong and serious actors and both have done/ learnt dialogues in Kelantan dialect – Mak Yong and Wayang Kulit. They are not Kelantanese but they can speak the dialect.

What’s the motivation behind this?
What I am trying to say is that they are not Kelantanese but they are able to speak, so others can also learn to understand the dialect too, even better, to speak the dialect as it is the language of Malaysian’s World Cultural Heritage performance, Mak Yong. This language will be the language for world audience too. So Malaysian better get used to the language.

What driven you to write Selipar Jepun?
It is all started with two friends of mine, David Bogart at Kyoto Seika University and Prof.Michiko Nakahara from Waseda University Tokyo, who were researching on Death Railway Workers. I remember my mother told me the story about her cousin, so I told them both. They then produce a big amount of works on Death Railway based on their research works. I told Prof.David that I am so inpired to write a play based on their research work. Later he told me that a professor in a college in USA also wrote and directed a play based on the story written by Lomax and a Japanese army. He has adapted the story into the Japanese Noh Theatre style. That was year 2000. I only wrote the story in 2005 in Kuala Lumpur. Both my parents were not well, so I spend a lot of time in Kota Bharu with them. We talked a lot about a lot of things, especially with my mother. She passed away in Nov 2006. I blended the story about the World War II, told by my mother with other issues like Islam and Transexuality, which are becoming topical issues in Malaysia. World War II also becoming a favourite subject as we approaching Independence Day celebration in August and this year, we are celebrating 50th Anniversary of Merdeka.

Why issue on transgender and transexuality?
It is an issue here but we never discussed it openly. So I am bringing the issue into this performance so we could discuss.

Do you always discuss issues in your production?Always, I feel that I should not make theatre of I don’t have any issues. In the past I have discussed lost of a kingdom that was being ignored by us – Langkasuka in Tanah Serendah, Corruption, Abortion etc in Aku Binatang Jalang, 19142004 about the murder of 1000 muslim in South Thailand, just across the river and also Indonesian immigration problems. LENNY berbangsa Dusun, anak jati dari Ranau, Sabah ini merupakan pemegang Diploma Penulisan dari Akademi Seni Kebangsaan (2002) dan juga graduan Seni Persembahan (Drama) dari Universiti Malaya (2006). Sejak 1998, lebih 40 produksi teater telah disertainya sama ada dalam bidang pengurusan, lakonan dan pengarahan. Sebagai penulis, antara karya pentasnya termasuklah Nur, http://www.puterigunungledang.com/, Hukuman Pasti, No Smoking Please, Bangsawan Laila Majnun, Dari M ke M dan terbaru Melati & Melur. Manakala drama televisyennya yang telah disiarkan termasuklah Haryati II dan slot-slot Dilema Wanita. Dalam bidang lakonan, Marlenny telah meraih anugerah Pelakon Wanita Terbaik Festival Teater Malaysia 2003 (Dewan Persidangan arahan M.Nasri Ayob) dan Pelakon Wanita Terbaik Festival Teater Antara Universiti Malaysia 2005 (Selendang Sakti arahan Roselina Khir). Beliau turut mengarah beberapa pementasan termasuklah No Smoking Please, Perhiasan Kaca dan Melati & Melur. Dalam teater tradisional, Marlenny telah terbabit dalam beberapa pementasan Mak Yong antaranya Dewa Muda 2 (ASK 2001), Raja Besar Ho Gading (UM 2004) dan beberapa showcase Mak Yong bersama Kumpulan Seri Temenggung di sekitar Kuala Lumpur, Perak dan Negeri Sembilan. Kini, beliau sedang melanjutkan pelajaran di peringkat Sarjana di Universiti Malaya dalam bidang teater tradisional.

INTAN CARINA ABDUL KARIM
Anak kelahiran Johor Bahru ini merupakan graduan Diploma Tari, Akademi Seni Kebangsaan 2003 dan kini memperkasa ilmu dalam bidang lakonan di peringkat Ijazah Seni Persembahan (Drama) Universiti Malaya. Beliau mendekati bidang seni melalui tiga peringkat iaitu bidang tari, lakonan dan pengurusan seni. Namun begitu, kecenderungannya kini mula tertumpu pada lakonan. Beberapa kali mewakili negara dalam bidang tarian antaranya ke Jepun, Bangkok, Chiangmai, Jogjakarta, Jakarta, Bandung dan banyak lagi.

Antara produksi teater yang pernah disertainya ialah I Remember The Rest House (2000), Medea (2000), Syakuntala (2001), Mak Yong Dewa Indra Indra Dewa (2002), Saudagar Rapudin (2003), Nuri dan Lokomotif Lipang (2005) Singa Dan Permata (2005), Selendang Sakti (2005), Bangsawan Mahkota Kembayat Negara (2005) Selendang Sakti Tour (2006), Monodrama …Dan Tiga Terbang Ke Bulan (2006) dan banyak lagi.


MOHD ALIFF MAT SALLEH
Lulusan Universiti Malaya dalam bidang Seni Persembahan (Drama) ini lebih cenderung dalam bidang Pengurusan Produksi. Antara produksi yang disertainya adalah Singa & Permata (2004), Selendang Sakti (2005) Perhiasan Kaca (2006) dan terbaru Melati & Melur (2007). Beliau mencuba bakatnya dalam bidang televisyen apabila terbabit dalam drama Crime Scene (8TV – 2007).

SYARAFINA ABDULLAH
Gadis kelahiran Sarawak ini mempunyai banyak kemahiran seperti lakonan, tarian, pengacaraan dan nyanyian. Mula berjinak dalam bidang seni sejak di bangku sekolah lagi. Antara produksi yang pernah beliau jayakan produksi “Melati dan Melur” arahan Marlenny Deenerwan, Jerung Vs Yu di Chow Kit (Hari Wilayah) arahan Roselina Khir Johari, Randai “Puti Nilam Sari” dan “Syakuntala” arahan Bapak Wisran Hadi, “Taufan” arahan Rohani Yousoff, “Wira Bukit” arahan Ahmad Yatim, Mak Yong “Batak Raja Gondang” arahan Fatimah Abdullah, Bangsawan “Putri Patmawati” Seniman Negara A. Rahman B, Pilot “Ghost” arahan Ng Ping Ho, Lensa Kriminal (TV2), On-Call (TV1). Keistimewaan beliau juga adalah menguasai beberapa bahasa dan dialek seperti Inggeris, Mandarin dan dialek suku kaum Sarawak. Beliau sedang melanjutkan pengajian di peringkat ijazah di Universiti Malaya.

AHMAD ISWAZIR ISMAIL
Berusia 25 tahun, pelajar jurusan Seni Persembahan (Drama) Universiti Malaya ini mula terlibat dalam pementasan teater pada tahun 2006. Bermula dengan drama Detik pada 2006, Ahmad meraih anugerah Pelakon Lelaki Terbaik dalam Festival Seni Universiti Malaya. Manakala menerusi Pengganti Zen pada tahun yang sama, beliau turut meraih anugerah Pelakon Lelaki Terbaik dalam Festival Teater Antara Universiti Malaysia. Drama-drama lain lakonannya termasuklah Kepulangan Bacchae (2006), Dari M ke M dan Melati & Melur (2007). Beliau turut berjinak-jinak dalam lakonan televisyen apabila muncul di dalam drama Realiti (8TV - 2006), Crime Scene (8TV – 2007) Dokumentari Atas Nama Perjuangan (2007) dan drama pendek Di Hari Yang Indah (2007).

PENAMPILAN ISTIMEWA: FOO CHI WEI
Foo adalah seorang pereka grafik terkenal di Malaysia dan telah banyak terlibat di dalam projek merekabentuk grafik untuk kempen, iklan, jenama, logo serta projek-projek artistik termasuk pembikinan album Ratu Sheila Majid. Foo telah memenangi banyak anugerah rekaan di dalam dan luar negeri, antaranya termasuklah Anugerah Industri Muzik, New York Festival dan London International Advertising Award. Selepas menamatkan pengajian di Royal Melbourne University dalam Visual Communication dengan High Distinction, dia berkerja dengan beberapa syarikat di Singapore sebelum berpindah balik ke Kuala Lumpur di William Harald-Wong & Associates. Beliau dilantik menjadi ketua jabatan rekaan di McCann Erickson Malaysia dan kini memulakan agensinya sendiri, Matchbox Studio dengan klien-klien yang besar seperti Concorde Hotel Shah Alam/Kuala Lumpur; Alexis Bistro; Aseana; Veritas Architects; Warner Music; Positive Tone; PA Publishing; Sutra Dance Theatre; National Art Gallery Malaysia dan banyak lagi. Foo juga masih giat belajar tarian klasik India, Odissi dibawah pimpinan Ramli Ibrahim di Sutra House.

DRAMATURGI: ROSNANI SEMAN
Anak Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Mula melibatkan diri dalam bidang teater bersama dengan Angkatan Karyawan Aktif kuala Lumpur (ANGKA). Merupakan tutor dan sedang melanjutkan pengajian di peringkat Sarjana Kesenian di Universiti Malaya. Pernah terlibat drama tv dan filem satu ketika dulu dan kini lebih menumpukan kepada bidang teater sebagai manusia di atas pentas dan manusia di sebalik tabir antaranya Jejak Pahlawan, Kena Main, Hang Tak Tuah (Khalid Salleh), Gendang Kosong (Matari Rahman), Perjalanan Bu Aminah, Opera Ayu Cendana(Fauziah Nawi), Ninggg…. Pelayaran InderaPutra II, Sabda Sang Pendita, Titik Mula Titik Akhir, Ludin, Ajung, Fragmen, Ghazal Party Queen dan produksi bersama Universiti Malaya seperti Obsessi, Matinya seorang Pahlawan, Selendang Sakti, Pengganti Zen dan Jerung Vs Yu. Pernah memenangi anugerah seperti Pelakon Wanita Terbaik Produksi Teater Wilayah Persekuatuan, Pengarah Terbaik Festival Teater kuala Lumpur dan Zon Tengah, Pemenang Deklamasi Puisi Kemerdekaan.

PRODUKSI DAN PENTAS: MOHD ZAMRI BIN MOHAMAD
Lulusan Seni Persembahan Drama (Ijazah Sarjana Muda) dari Universiti Malaya.
Anak kelahiran Kelantan ini aktif berteater di UM dan memenangi anugerah Pelakon Pembantu Lelaki Terbaik 2004 dalam perrtandingan teater Universiti Malaya, beliau juga aktif dalam berpersatuan, dan mempunyai kepimpinan tinggi. Merupakan Exco Kebudayaan dan Kesenian dalam Majlis Perwakilan Mahasiswa Universiti Malaya 2004/05 (MPMUM).

Selain berlakon, Zamri juga melibatkan dirinya dalam cabang seni yang lain seperti bidang tarian, pembantu pentas, rekaan set dan teknikal, pengurusan pentas, penyanyi latar serta penyelidikan. Pernah mewakili Malaysia ke Thailand dan Kemboja dalam festival tarian. Penglibatannya dalam bidang teater lebih cenderung kepada bentuk fizikal dan eksperimental. Beliau sudah terlibat dalam lebih 20 produksi teater di Universiti Malaya dan produksi sekitar lembah Klang. Antaranya ialah Nuri dan Lokomotif Lipang (2004) arahan Wawan Safwan, Teater Fizikal Tunku Kudin (2004) arahan Effindi Samsuddin, Teater Kanak-kanak Selendang Sakti (2004 dan 2005) arahan Roselina Khir, Teater Muzikal Lantai T.Pinkie (2006) arahan Rosminah Tahir, Bangsawan Mahkota Kembayat Negara (2005) arahan Effindi Samsuddin, Bangsawan Syamsir Alam (2003), Bangsawan Selendang Delima (2004) arahan Seniman Negara Rahman B, Warkah Menara (2005), Gejolak (2004), Orang Baik (2005), Singa dan Permata (2005), Miss Julia (2006).

Pernah melibatkan diri dalam drama TV dan filem bersama pengarah Prof.Madya Abd. Razak Mohaiden, Othman Hafsham, Martias Ali, Bade Hj. Azmi, Bernard Chauly, Arab serta produksi Wayang Tinggi Prod., Red Communications. Terakhir berlakon dalam Melor & Melati untuk Festival Teater Malaysia bersama Kumpulan Mekar Budaya Production.

TATA CAHAYA: MOHD HAFIZ HUSIN
Graduan Sarjana Seni Persembahan(Drama) dari Universiti Malaya dan Diploma Seni Lakon dari Akademi Seni Kebangsaan lebih menjuruskan dirinya ke arah teknik pencahayaan dalam teater and produksi pentas. Giat bersama Alternative Stage dalam banyak produksi teater di pentas-pentas di Lembah Kelang. Terakhir, beliau terlibat di dalam pementasan teater perdana arahan Dato’ Syed Alwi, Keris, di Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka.

DR.ZULKIFLI MOHAMAD
EXECUTIVE PRODUSER-PENGARAH-PENULIS SKRIP
Dilahirkan dalam tahun naga di Kota Bharu Kelantan. Bersekolah di Sultan Ibrahim School, Pasir Mas dan pernah menuntut di Institut Teknologi MARA, University of Strathclyde Glasgow dan menamatkan pengajian doktor falsafah dalam bidang “Pengurusan Kreasi Artistik Dalam Teatertari Kontemporari Melayu” di Institut Tamadun dan Alam Melayu, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Lama menjadi tenaga persembahan dan pengurusan dalam Suasana Dance Theatre Company 1986-1998. Pernah berkerja di Scottish Ballet Glasgow, ASEAN, SEAMEO-SPAFA, University of Chulalongkorn, Jakarta Arts Institute, Akademi Seni Kebangsaan, UKM, Institut Kraf Negara, UITM Sarawak, UNIMAS, LINTAS, MAJUIKAN, TELEKOM, COOPERS & LYBRAND.

Zulkifli pernah berkerjasama dalam persembahan teater dan tari bersama Rendra, Dr.Chandrabhanu, Hatta Azad, Mendiang Ibu Ni Wayan Masih, dan Katsura Kan.
Beliau menubuhkan kumpulan teater untuk anak jalanan dan anak sekolah di Kuching pada tahun 1993, TEATER HAUS dan SVARNABHUMI STUDIO pada tahun 1998 apabila berpindah kerja ke Bangkok. Setelah kembali ke Kuala Lumpur, SVARNABHUMI STUDIO telah menerbitkan produksi teater dan tari, antaranya termasuklah Tanah Serendah Sekebun Bunga (DBP), Aku Binatang Jalang-Emas Sepuluh (Istana Budaya), Lalak (Panggung Bandaraya), Suara dari Ruang Tamu(Balai Seni Seni Lukis Negara), Kertas(Petronas Galeri), Tandak Tenggara(Camphor2 London Bridge), Waiting For Rama (Exeter University, UK), Vous Amez Dormir (Bangkok Fringe Festival), And She Comes(Berlin Spirit Festival) dan Aku dan Laut (Yayasan Kesenian Perak), Eksperimentari Laut dan Lumpur(Majalah 3/ NAG/ Sabah Parks), Telepuk (Muzium Alam Shah), Middle Mountain (Taksu Galleri Jakarta, Black Box Chula Bangkok). Kini Zulkifli berkhidmat di Pusat Kebudayaan, Universiti Malaya sebagai pensyarah di dalam bidang teater tari, pengurusan teater, pemasaran teater, produksi teater tradisional serta penulisan kritikal seni visual.
